Default a/c compressor replaced, makes gurgling sound when turning off car

Hey guys. My compressor went bad a few weeks ago, so I bought a used one off a CL member and had it installed last week. It blows ice cold, but I noticed that when I turn off the car, I hear a low-pitched gurgling noise from the vents. I also sometimes hear what could best be described as a start up noise coming from the vents when I start the car. I know this isn't normal, but it only makes these noises on starting and turning off the car. Is this anything to be concerned about? Thanks for any help.

sounds like a condensation problem , make sure your drain tube isnt clogged . check under your car for proper drainage . Or it can be air in the system , when they replaced the compressor did they vacume the lines down before adding the new refrigerant ?

I don't think the drain is clogged because I always see a lot of condensation on the ground under the car after the a/c has been running. As for what they did or didn't do when they put on the used compressor, I really have no idea because I didn't ask. Would they have to drain out all the old refrigerant before putting on the compressor? Assuming they didn't drain out the old, put in the new and/or vacuum the lines, is that something that can be easily done afer the fact? Thanks for your help.

Interesting story... If there is air in the system, I don't think it would be blowing ice cold air. Just a thought.

Yea the process is that they drain before they fill, they have to do this. Unless they are complete morons, but if there was air, it wouldn't blow ice cold at all.

If you heare gurgling, I suspect you are low on coolant and/or go some air in the cooling system. There is a thread about this. Check the coolant when the car is cool and open the radiator cap and see if it's low, then add. Then turn on the heater so you can get the air out from the heater core.

my ac makes a noticable gurgling sound too. i think its air in the lines. It happened after i had all my fluids changed by the lexus dealership.

Try turning on the heater for few minutes and then select then fresh air mode and run it for a day and it should go away.
