not sure if the window trick works on the 1 generation gs.

Good trick showluv

Here is another trick I forgot to mention.

When you turn the auto button on the AC automatically comes on. If you do not want the AC to come on, than turn off the AC so the green light does not appear when the auto button is on. Next, turn on the off switch to switch off the system. Then instead of hitting the auto switch to activate the hvac controls, hit the fan speed swich left or right button. This will turn on the controls without the AC going on and decreasing the power on tap. Again Joe showed me this one.

I will follow up with Joe again on the steering wheel thing. He just did it for me today, but I forgot the steps. I think it might be hitting the steering wheel down button all the way down. Than hit click it seven times. On the 8th time hold it down and it should go down further. Will check with Joe on this again.

Hope all this info helps.

I got the steering wheel to go down further!

I first tried pushing the lever (nipple or whatever that thing is) down for 6 seconds......nothing. I then tried pushing the lever down 6 times......still nothing. I then tried holding it down for 6 more seconds followed by a couple more pushes and it then went down. I'm not sure what the official sequence is to get it to go down, but just jack around with it and you should get it. It actually goes down quite a bit further.

They must have limited the default range of the tilt motor to save some wear on it because of the auto-tilt-away feature. Better make sure it doesn't void your warranty!!!

How much further would anyone want the steering wheel to go down? I mean I can't drive as it is with the wheel in it's lowest position, or it will be jammed up against my nu**!!!

does anyone know how to stop the locks from auto engaging when you start the car....or auto unlock when the car is turned off? I hate my passengers having to unlock the doors.

Ok, so we don't all waste time answering questions about C-BEST, here's ALL the settings for the 2001+ GS...if you have a PRE-2001, go to your dealer and ask them for a print out...

If you have a scanner, please scan them and upload them so we can start a database of sorts...

Default interesting

just tried the steering wheel trick and got it to work.
I found it to work in EVERY direction--up, down, in and out!
Max it out in that direction, press 8 times and hold it on the eighth time. It only moves a little bit, not enough to matter to me.

Default Rear trunk dome light

If you open the trunk using the key manually, the trunk light will not turn on.

If you open the trunk using the remote, the trunk light will turn on.

DrewGS4-
Try putting your arm through the open window as the windows are going up (in auto mode).

Do that again in your moonroof.

Make sure you put your arms while the windows are closing in auto mode (NOT WHILE YOU'RE HOLDING THE POWER WINDOW BUTTON).

To make the steering wheel move an extra 1/2 inch to an inch you have to click the button in the direction 8 times...

I was just showing Drew some things he didn't know about his cars. I didn't expect him to go and embarass me!!!

It's cool Drew i'm just kidding!!!

Hey Joe, just make my car look like yours and I will be happy

Does any CL member already have the c-best settings that they can post? I definately want to change the unlock feature to open all doors up by clicking once instead of twice on the remote.
