Default E-Shift Not shifting, anyone experience this?

Hey guys, I didnt know what to search for, so I just decided to post

So i bought a GS400 and the steering wheel that came with it had the GS300 01-05 wheel.

so the seller told me that the buttons werent working ( it stayed in 5 when I switched to M) and the airbag light was on because of the changed steering wheel.

so he said that I can change the steering wheel back to the OG one because he still had it, today I changed it, and nothing happened when I pressed the down and up buttons.

it just stayed on 5
So my mechanic said its most likely not the steering wheel, but something else. he just doesnt know what it could be.
So Im asking, has anyone else ever experienced thhis?

AND when I drive and I switch to M i feel engine braking a bit, EVEN though the cluster says gear 5. is the cluster showing me the wrong gear? could I be in 4 and it shows 5?

I tested the buttons while driving in M just to make sure the cluster wasnt just malfunctioning and didnt feel any difference other than engine braking when I switched to M.

some one please just give me some info.

its probally the fuse check those out, and maybe its the wire itself going to the tranny. or ecu etc. just get a wire diagram of your car and go from there. GL

honestly, I dont even know what to do. I probably would check the fuses, but I have NO CLUE as to what to do with that wiring diagram

im not much of a specialist when it comes to anything dealing with electricals.
