Default Some GS Issues? (Newbie)

I've had a 00' Pearl GS300 with about 80k on it for a about 2 weeks now. At first, since the car was new it felt like a new ride (never owned or driven a gs before)- but as of recent I've noticed a few things that have been annoying me a bit and I cant tell whether the car should feel this way or not:

1- Power Steering/Alignment problem?- When I make turns i feel like the steering wheel doesn't turn back on its own as quick. Its pretty sturdy when it's straight (does not favor a side by shifting). Is this normal?

2- RWD? Never owned a RWD car and I notice when I put the car in reverse when i push the gas pedal a bit to accelerate it feels like it skips in doing so. Is this RWD or is it a problem?

3- Laggy? When I'm a slightly (not even that serious) heavy on the gas the car feels like its struggling a bit to accelerate- like its playing catch up if you know what i mean...

I have a few more inquiries which I'll keep on hold for a minute but any help will be highly appreciated.

Last tune up I used best best oil for change, tech told me i needed to do an engine flush and change tranny fluid. Could this be part of the prob? Some mechanics say that changing the tranny fluid can actually contribute to hurting your transmission?

Thanks in advance...

hi
These are some of the items you should check out
@ 80k The power steering - you should check the condition of the fluid in the res. because it isnt expensive nor hard to replace i would suggest changing the fluid to new and see what that does to the feel of it. it The fluid in mine was brown and it made a difference in steering feel after this service.

The trans fluid - check the color of the fluid and also smell the fluid for a brunt kinda odor. If the fluid isn't a red color ideally bright red and because you are @ 80k it would be wise and a safe bet to change that fluid out pref. a flush but there's other ways guys change the fluid here.

Other items to check would be the differential fluid and a tune up ie spark plugs, air/fuel filter etc
These are some of the service i am doing on mine at about the same miles to keep it running smooth.
congrats on your purchase..

Drain and refill multiple times for the transmission fluid. It is recommended instead of a flush. There are multiple threads/discussions/how-to's, just do a search.

As far as the laggy feeling, check and clean your MAF sensor if needed and reset your battery. That usually helps with the laggy feeling. There is also another thread I've been meaning to look up again, it talks about tightening the throttle cable, as some slack will occur over time, which worsens throttle response.

what kind of lag? struggling to get up? or slight throttle response? I know that our cars have a slight throttle hesitance for that "luxury" smooth getup...

^ I'm actually having quite the opposite experience.

Lately, when I've been taking off from a red light or something, the car does not hesitate at all and pulls like my foot is all the way down. It's basically like I'm flooring it so I have to step on the accelerator and let go immediately to get the car moving and then get back on, which at that point it's smooth again. I don't know how to explain it, but the throttle response in crazy.

Slightly late lag. Any thoughts aside from the throttle cable adjustment? I'm a little scared to do this myself with the problems other people have mantions in mexlex's link...

As of yesterday, as I accelerate from zero im hearing a wierd sound which goes away after it pass the 20-30 mph mark. Anyone have any clues?

Also, i get a rumble in my steering wheel when braking. A mechanic told me it's my rotors. He told me $110 to replace the front two. Is this good? Or should i look into a specific rotor? What is the price range on Lex factory rotors?

As wierd as this may sound, it sounds like how back in the day we used to take quarter waters and stuff them under our bicycle back tires to make them sound like motorcycles. Exactly like that...

To replace the rotors, does that include the parts? or just the labor. Let you know, If you're planning to get performance rotors, slotted drill rotors, purchase it by Brembo i prefer, i had an experience with other brands, and my rotors were still squeaking, it wasn't my brake pads.

I would get that trans checked out, all the simptons you are telling us sounds like the previous owner didnt take good care of the car. How many miles are on the car? any service records on the car? I would have the whole car looked over
