OK...me too. Where to lube is a good question... The next question is, does this fix it?

The dealership lubricated mine about a year ago when it was in for the 60,000 mile service, and I haven't had any problem since then despite the intense southern Louisiana heat.

Mine is getting worse and worse.

It's fine when I insert my keys in the ignition. The problem is when I take my keys OUT of the ignition. A dying pig squealing.

How about you guys?

Little pig little pig ...........get out of my car!

My pig only squeals when the car has sat in the heat outside and warmed up the interior pretty good. Horrible sound. I brough it in to my mechanic - told him about the white lexus grease, and he said he'd lube it up for me for free since I was getting other things done. It went away for about 2 weeks, but now its back.

Either he half-assed the lube - used the wrong kind - or once it squeals, you need more than a lube

Anyone else??

tried the toyota lube it helped for a few days then its started again.

it seems the metal expands a little when in the heat thus causing the metal when expanding outward to rub.
i might try a little light tapping with a rubber malet to see if it helps some how on the area that expands .

DAMN, I have this SAME ANNOYING PROBLEM. You mean to tell me no one has found a fix for this? This sure as hell should be a recall item. I mean is there anyone that has NEVER had a problem with the squeak in the telescoping wheel? That should be the question. I guess I'll just live with it.

Default it should be recall

I have the same problem. Winter is coming and it gets louder and louder. I agree, in summer it goes away. I have to do something because it is anoying. I don't know how the process of making it a RECALL works but, if anyone is going to make this a recall "I'm in".

Well this is my next step. Replacing the steering tube assembly. Not sure if it will work but will give it a shot.

My Solution was to have them reprogram the car not to move the wheel when I insert/remove the key. Problem was I was out of warranty and in the heat the sound, in the cold, the wheel wouldn't move up and down.
