Which car would you choose?
Guys, I am extremely close to getting my GS. These are my two options and I would appreciate it if you could help me decide. Choice 1) a Beige 98' GS400 w/ 67,000 miles (stock) or
Choice 2) a Spectra Blue 98' GS300 w/ 65,000 miles (fully loaded- spoiler, snrf, HID's, Chrome wheels, navigation , heated seats, Nakamachi, etc...
They are both in similar condition. The GS400 would be $1000 more money than the 300. I much prefer the color and options of the 300(Spectra) but I would also love the V-8 power of the 400. What do you guys think?
Thank-You, ARB

get the GS400
Go for the V8 I was in a similiar situation as you and opted to go 3000 dollars more for the V8. Man once you go v8 you wont ever go back to a I6 especially since the v8 gets the same gas mileage as the I6 but the difference in power is incredible.

Between the GS400 and the GS300, how can you say a GS400 will project a immature boy-racer look. Both cars have the same of everthing except what, the motor, trans, wheels, etc...
If you want power and speed get the GS400, if not get the GS300.
IMO, the blue is a hard color to find. But you can always have the GS400 painted over with the color that you like.
I'm in the process of doing just that, show quality all the way.

wwest,
how many immature boy-racers who drive a stock Biege GS400 do you know????? I only see grandpas/mas, families, businessmen/women, strippers, and dancers driving these cars. Apparently you must be confusing a GS4 with a Integra Type R.
Oh yeah, the comfort and style is the same in the GS300 and GS400. Sorry to break the news...........
ARB,
Speed= GS4 but you can always change the color....
Show= get the GS3 (that's my favorite color!!!!)
Either way you can't go wrong............

My choice!
Like Hudini said, "either way you can't go wrong". Do what I do, what ever your first instinct is, go with that. It's like taking a test, the answer that pops into your mind first, is usually the correct answer. So with that being said, you like the Spectra Blue, then go with that. You can always hype it up to the horsepower you're looking for. As far as the beige is concerned, it's not really that boring. I have the beige color or they call it the "Burndished Gold", it depends on how you dress it up. If it's "Ricey" looking then yeah it would be boring, but if you do it correctly, heads will still turn. Believe me on that, 'cause I constantly get yelled at from my wife when other women look at the car and then say "Hello" to me and not her. I wanted the Spectra Blue at the time I bought mine, but they had a "Sold" sign on it and went for the later. Go with your gut feeling.

Hey RU-INAW,
You should licked the door handle of the Spectra Blue car, so the other person would think twice about buying it ( like the Jetta commercial). LOL
But the Beige is a nice color but I am like you the Blue was my 1st choice......... And yes, I have the same problem with my girl...

Funny you mentioned that, I started to do that but then I got to thinking that the other guy already had.
As far as dealing with my wife, there are 2 ways:
1) Don't take her anywhere with me
2) Don't look at the other women drooling over the car
Normally 98.9% of the time it's No. "1"

Why don't you test drive both? If you aren't concerned with the extra power of the GS400, then opt for the 300. The GS400 is good if you're a fast or aggressive driver and has the "400-pimp-factor". The 300 would be my choice in the matter (in this particular scenario). It has much more to offer featurewise, and at a lower price. If you aren't into powerful cars or race tuning your car, then the 300 is fine. You'll derive just as much pleasure from the extra options it's loaded with than you would from the power of the 400 (I'm assuming the 400 has none of those options mentioned). Plus you'll enjoy the spectra blue finish much more than beige. I should know, I have a beige Lexus. The I-6 motor does have it's advantage over a V-8 too.
Question: What is a GS400 standard-equipped with that a GS300 isn't? And what are some options only available to the GS400, if any?
