Default PIAA white LED and Phillips 6000k

Here is a pic of my new LED's with the 6000k lights. As some of you may remember, I had the "blue/white" LED in and it created some stir. I just wanted to show you what the white looks like.

this actually looks much less blue than the pic. It really matches the HID's well. Here is a pic of the HID head on

Hey HI98GS where did you get the 6000k bulb and how much was it? Do the Hids look as blue as in the picture after the kit has warmed up? Also where did you purchase the LEDS? thanks in advance

P.S Very nice lights

LED bulbs will shoot straight and will look bright from the direct front. It does not scatter or illuminate the sides like conventional bulbs.

Your bulb size is 194/168

I initially purchased the "blue/white" bulb from Japan. I purchased the "white/white" bulb from sigma automotive. Look under PIAA and scroll to the super LED section. the addy is
www.sigmaautomotive.com
I talked with Robert. He was very friendly and seemed to be on the up and up. He told me that he would send out the bulbs on Monday and I recieved them on Thursday. (remember I live in HI and his business is on the east coast)

GS3kid858: I purchased the HID from Japan as well. I think that the guys at sigma automotive would be able to help you get them.

here is the pic of the 6000k with the blue white LED for comparison. They also make a "blue/blue" The reason for the "/" is that there are 2 leds on the same bulb.

Nothing personal concepts, but I beg to differ.

"Bright" is a relative term. I bought these bulbs as a trial replacement for my Polarg M6s. Did I expect them to be brighter than an 18w incadescet bulb? Maybe, given the statements made about LEDs.

They are nowhere as bright; rather pathetic actually.

They might be "whiter" than OEM wedge bulbs, but barely brighter.

Oh well - lesson learned. Buy PIAA wedges. Mine are shipping...

Caveat Emptor

Well LEDs have a relatively bright lumen measure, but very poor candel power, meaning they are bright when you stare directly into them, but they don't project hardly ANY light at all. Similar to indiglo lights. I would stick with the regular DRLs. PIAA is overpriced and overhyped, BTW. This is not opinion, but fact.

As usual, I am interested in your comments.

But how can "overpriced and overhyped" be fact?

To me, that's about as fact as stating "Lexus is overpriced and overhyped".

"Facts" are not open to intepretation. I think your comments are.

Now I know you are the lighting guru and everything, but I still think you should take caution to declaring opinions as facts.

For my money, I think they are quality bulbs, and that's all that really matters.

SO, lets not steal the thunder from Ricky's thread. Start another thread why you think PIAAs are overpriced and overhyped.

Default High beams

HI98GS,

What bulbs are you running for the highbeams? They appear as if they would go nicely with my HID's. Any comments on them?

Thank you
