I think I recently screwed up when I replaced my tires. Got H rated instead of V rated.....Bridgestone Turanza Serenity. The H's have longer tread life and lower price but I didn't realize that Lexus calls for V.
Did I screw up? Should my Firestone retailer have pointed this out? Thoughts?

The sidewalls on a lower speed rated tire are softer. Your car calls for some V-rated tires, which is a considerably sporty rating. You might feel as if the car sticks less to the road and also, you might feel as if it swerves around as the sidewalls flex (a bit like a trailer that is overloaded). The car will feel as if it's on springs if you take some bumps head-on.
Not that big of a deal if you're not into some enthousiastic driving... but you might feel it in day-to-day driving especially if you try to avoid objects on the road or take some corners hard. You will have much less adherence to the road. What is overall more important is that you have the correct load charge. I believe in your case that it's an 89V or a 91V.
Firestone should have at least pointed this out to you. I know that at my father's tire shop the installers would not have accepted to install these tires for you.

thanks for reply. I know I want more traction, especially given the flash flood rains we get thruout the year.
Still, my question is which will be less harsh comfort wise.....the H tire with longer warranty or V tire with shorter warranty?

H has softer sidewalls so it will absorb bumps better
traction isnt going to change much going from V to H
what you want is water dispersal which tread patterns provides
and H vs V does not affect tread patterns, so you should be ok in terms of ability to prevent hydroplanning
just dont take the car above like 130 mph or dont do any crazy high speed cornering and ull be alright
