Battery seems to be draining.
Hi everyone
It seems that my battery is draining somehow. 2 nights ago i went out to the car to start it and it was flat. Quick jump start and a nip up the road and all was well. Following night same situation, so again quick jump start and this time a longer drive. All was well stared a couple of times today but didn't drive anywhere but went to go tonight and same story. Now, the past few nights when i've gone for a drive to recharge the battery, its been pitch black and i've had to have the lights on so would much charge be going back? is it that i haven't recharged it enough? (first night drive was only 10 min, 2nd night about 20min). The issue is that on the first day it happend, my 2 year old was playing in the car so i assumed that he turned on the lights or something, so put it down to that. They were in it today but can't see that he's turned on anything. Looked at everything i can think of including climbing into the boot to check the light goes out but is there something i could be missing. All obvious suggestions welcome, i might be suffering brain freeze! Thanks in advance.

just a few things. could just be time for new battery, alternator may not be charging at full potential and quite possibly something may be staying one and draining little by little i.e. glove compartment light
First thing and easiest and cheapest thing to do, is remove battery and have kragen or auto zone do a trickle charge and see if battery is holding charge. If it is, then its one of the other 2 things I mentioned...

Yep.. drive the car to local store (autozone, kragen, pepboys, napa) and they can test it out for free to see if it is still getting a good charge. It probably is just time for a new battery.

Ok so. Will nip to the motor factors this afternoon and get them to test the battery and we'll go from there. To be honest, i don't know the age of the battery as i've only the car since feb, but it looks newish, but then the engine bay is mint anyway so not an accurate assumption anyway! Has the original lex battery got lex written on it?

Oh and 100% agree that the guy with the car that died whilst driving that its the alternator. Had the same thing before on a few cars over the years. Always the alternator.
