My tips touch the outer edge of the cutout in the bumper cover (98 GS4) if I let them hang per the instructions. I have a temporary (albeit ugly) clamp holding them centered, so I don't burn the bumper.

I'm dealing with Borla now on a remedy, but after searching around, it seems this is a fairly common problem. I'm trying to decide if I should modify them to fit right or try another set. What are my chances that I'll get a set that fit perfectly?

I would try to get it fixed. It will burn the bumper for sure

mine did this as well. the guy that put mine on heated the section just aft of the bolt-on and then bent them in. so now they fit perfectly center. you may want to try it.

Just weld it. Same thing happened to my old borla set. I guess now I know Borla doesn't have a perfect fitment like some japanese tuners.
