I have to try this later (I can't right now, I'm in the office).
I was told that the sensitivity of the system can be adjusted by turning the sensor lens on the dashboard. If the response is quick, turn the sensor lens counter clockwise. If the response is too slow, turn the sensor lens clockwise.

whitels means the light sensors on the dash by the windshield. I tried rotating them once but they wouldn't move. I believe the idea is if you can rotate the sensor so it's not seeing light as DIRECTLY, then its sensitivity goes up (lights should go on more easily).

The adjustment your trying is only for early model cars. The sensitivity adjustment can only be done at lexus. You need to plug in a lexus diagnostic tester and change the C-best function for the headlamps. Ask your dealer, they should do it for free, takes 2 minutes.
