Would putting on a lighter set of wheels help? Or maybe also some Fuelmax tires? My sister's GS300 also has crappy fuel mileage (though not as bad as yours). She's got MRR GT1s on, and they're heavy...

Tires will make probably between 0-4% difference (getting 4% may mean large performance change). Rims can make a difference too, but probably 0-10%(some super heavy rims here). If you're going from OEM to lightweight, maybe 0-3%.
Notice how little this is, if you're thinking of spending money to save fuel, crunch the numbers to see how much you're going to be spending on fuel over a period of time (versus the other costs of your car).

Don't expect huge savings, more like instead of being able to go 300 miles, you now go 310miles on a tank, for example. Making sure you've taken care of everything else first is probably a better bet.

It's not alot, I think 1oz per 5 gallons.

Read that thread. I was a non believer until I tried it in a car I don't car about....my winter beater, and sure as hell, my rough idle smoothed out and I went from about 29mpg to about 34mpg.

i don't trust the light,i've got 22 miles out of it i think, but i hate having the risk on running out on petrol,so fill up asap if it gets that low on journeys,in paris i kept it above 1/4 at all times due to not knowing where the next station would be
