the question is why do you want to switch over to an 02 cluster?

if all u want to do is switch the cluster bezel, then its really plug n play.

however if u are trying to do what i did, which was to switch the speedo over because you want the KM/H the dominant lettering over the mph, then you have to take part the gauge to the point that u unscrew the speedo gauge itself. this requires you remove the needle, so thus recalibrating it is tricky unless you have something to compare it with (i used my gps)

I just want to know if the whole cluster from the 02 fits or if it reqiuers modification

98-00 differ from 01-05 in its pure electronics.

however, physically, and by pure looks, they are identical.

so to answer, will it fit? yes, but will it work? no.


from my understanding, the 01-05 run on a dual staged airbag system. this triggered the error i got when i plugged in the 01 cluster. also, some hand brake/foot brake/parking brake issue also triggered the hand brake/foot brake/parking brake warning light.

So if I plug the cluster will it function properly? The lights being on isn't a problem ill just take the bulbs out

well then the issue is, will ur airbag work? because the cluster will detect there is an airbag error. i donno if that is just detecting there is an error and the airbag still works, or it actually means the airbag will stop working.

But will the tach speedo shift indacator and all that work?
