Was just curious, as the gauge cluster's odometer IS digital, so was curious if changing the whole cluster would affect the odometer reading?

i know it did with my old honda, as that was the old dials system, but on the the GS its digital, so was curious.

IIRC after you swap, the odo stays the same as the car since odo is being followed by ECU or something instead of the gauge... and you have like 3 chances to change them or something...

What cluster are you changing to?

Correction Miles stays on cluster, to change you have to take it to dealer to avoid discrepancy

So if i have a 2000 gs and want to put a 2001 gauge cluster in it, it will not affect the odometer reading?

if you have E shift, you'll lose its display if you put in a non e shift cluster

yes it will

the odometer computer is in the gauge cluster itself on the circuit board.

but also, the 98-00 are different from the 01-05. the whole cluster itself, like the circuit board is different. i plugged in a 01 in my 99, and the airbag light came on, and the hand brake light came on as well.

oh hey, where did you find the KMH clusters? I never seem to be able to find a junker in Van that have GS....

oh man, it took me a while, and i let word out ot the wreckers i was looking for one.

a burgandy 01 gs430 showed up at scotts in surrey.

i went there and raped her for everything she had that wasnt wrecked.

i grabbed some interior parts, trim pieces, 1 yellow fog light, gauge cluster.

things i found out

01-05 cluster is different, the odometer is with the gauge cluster and not that car. when i plugged the cdn one in, the odometer numbers changed. i ended up buying the cluster, and swaping out the km/h speedo. if u have anything busted and want some parts out of it, tell me.

i swapped the km/h speedo in, but required to remove my needle, took 10 tries to calibrate it back to the right speed (i compared to my gps speed)

the climate control goes with the car, so if ur car is canadian, it will show celcius. so because my car is usdm, even with the newer cluster, it showed F. i left it back there as mine is perfectly fine.

i had 1 passenger yellow fog light, i bought the driver side yellow fog light off ebay.

hand brake light? u have a handbrake? i didnt even think the jdm ones have a handbrake (except the 2 i have seen that someone added it)

... meaning parking brake light.... same thing... just weird calling it foot brake light and when you're used to hand brake, you can hardly change...

well, I don't really need anything really.... my car's USDM as well, with navi that only knows USA streets....

And yes, the 'F is annoying at times... but I'll know the 'C temp when it's -40'F since it'll be -40'C also. lol

things I want out of a CND 01+ would be the gauge and brezel I think... unless it's got black wood, I'll take the center piece. lol

oh and I'll want the rear covers off of a HID light... mine never had them... and it's ditry and dusty in the light now.
