Default 2000 gs300 - check engine, vsc

my friend has a gs300 he just purchased. the check engine light, and both vsc lights are on. he was driving it the other day doing about 70 mph and all of a sudden the car started to decelerate. he would give it gas and it wouldnt go. so he slowed down and pulled over. he turned the car off and sat there for a minute. then he started the car up and it ran again. anyone have any ideas. maybe a sensor. any help would be appreciated. he just bought this car. thanks

take it to autozone and get the code retrieved. they do it for free. once you post the code we can help you from there.

If the CEL went off and you haven't reset it, it should still be stored. I would go and get it pulled and figure out what it is.

You can stop by just about at any store. Some of them close late. Autozone by my place (Norwalk, CA) close at 11pm. Maybe there is a similar store around you. It'll take them literally like 2mins to let you know what the code is.

^Yep. I hope you don't have to use your AAA card. Get it checked out. Much safer than driving for 3hours.
