Default in the market/ questions to 2nd gen gs300 owners

well i am in the market for a gs300. i have messed with civics and 240's since i've been 16 and i feel its time to get a nice lexury car, that i can eventually boost and have good numbers on. well my questions for yall is wat are the pros/cons of owning a say 98 compared to.. 01-02? if any.
and also how rare is it to find one with black interior? all the ones i've found so far are tan interior which my dirty *** would mess up fast.

If you can get a 98 with a good history cantt go wrong either way , The only thing I dont like about the 98's to 2000 are the tail lights and the steeering wheel but both can be upgraded easily

yah ive been stalking craigslist everyday haha
its just scary how much of a difference a 98 - 01 is on there in my area
like i found a dark red 98 gs with tan interior and 90k miles for sale for 4500.
then i found a black on black 01 with 42k miles for sale for 12,500.
haha i just want a completly stock one thats running good, sick of buying people's projects. everyday i look at everyones gs's on here and drule in envy lol

Well, if you're gonna do the 2jtgte swap... Not sure how NC is but in cali with emissions, you can only do that swap on a '98 legally and still be able to pass smog.

Because '98 was the last year that the Supra was available in the states, it makes the car smog-able
