Lexus, for $4500 less you can Turbo your current GS300 Get the stage I (340 RWHP) from Toyomoto and it will give you approximately 400hp at the flywheel. The price is $10,500 installed. And from there if you need more power it will come very cheap (since you already have the turbos). BTW at 400hp your car will be much faster than if you put a Supra Turbo engine(320hp) in your car or an IS.

i did just that.
traded in my '99 G3 for a new (at that time) '01 IS.
why the heck did i downgrade my car?

#1. i was bored with the GS after a year and a half.

#2 i dont care what others think. which means i get the car i want. which means going from a GS to IS is not necessarily a 'downgrade' for me.

so am i happy with the IS? hell ya.

P.S. after a year, i'm bored with the IS already. . i'm thinking about getting a motorcycle now. i'll keep the IS though. defenitley need to have a car in L.A.

that sounds like a good deal for 400 horse of power. But how does it compare to an IS with supra TT as in 1/4mile run?????

LS400, your thinking of pre 98'/ OBI GS/SC300's NOT 98+ VVT-I OBII GS300's. When the engine has VVT-I & OBII they are much harder and costly to work on.

Lexus, do the power to weight ratios. 10.21 for the IS & 9.09 for the Toyomoto stage I GS300(98+) so the Supra engine IS(320hp) has allot more weight to throw around per horsepower than the Stage I Turbo GS300.
