Hello everyone, just wondering if the 2001 and up GS430 tail lights will be able to fit my 1999 GS400 without any issues are not. The reason I am replacing is because while parked in the city there was a Range Rover parked in front of me on a side street with a very large distance and inside I went to dinner with my parents and when I came out my left tail light was cracked of course I assumed it was a hit and run and there were no cameras.

So instead of replacing stock tail lights I have always admired the GS430 taillights and I was wondering if anyone can shed some light on if they are easily swappable thanks.

YEah you should have no issues. There are a whole lot of member doing that. GS300/430 lights from 01+ are the same BTW. You should change them. Makes th car look waay newer.

If you are using the wire harness from the new tails then you should be ok. If you are going to use your current harness then there is a small bit of splicing that needs to be done. Search it and you should be able to find the DIY.

01-05 tails from GS300, GS400, GS430 are all interchangeable, if you are going to convert from the 99 to 01 tails make sure to have the wire harness for the 01 tails.

Wow very impressed with the response time on this forum I am a first time Lexus buyer and love forums because you learn a million times more from other enthusiasts than anybook. Thank you all for your help, the GS430 tail lights I am looking to pick yes do include the harnesses along with it so I think it will be alright and a little splicing is fine.

My only concern originally was if the actual physical size of the 2001+ tailights would have fit my 1999.

if they come with the harness then no splicing needed.
