Exclamation First Official ClubLexus Dyno: GS430 with Injen intake!

Manaray has agreed to loan ClubLexus his 2002 GS430 for intake purposes!

We WILL be dynoing an Injen intake on a GS430. The dynoes will be done at SP-Engineeering.

Further details will be posted next week as I confirm the day and time.

Finally, I get SOMETHING going!

Edit: Manaray only has exhausts. I will coaxing him to put his stock wheels on rather than his 20's.

Ethan

99 GS300

Yes, cuz no company is willing to loan us their products.

Let's see who makes intakes for GS in general:

Swift Racing Technologies
Weapon-R
Injen
K&N filter

Unless I buy the top two manufacturers, dynoing their products just won't happen.

Unless ppl are willing to pull their money together so ClubLexus can buy the products, this is the only way to go.

As for donations, I spoke too soon. I will be setting something up if ppl are interested.

Ethan how much money would we need to collect in order to buy the two other intakes and do all the dyno work??

You know i'm willing to donate as well and i'm sure if we get the word out to fellow CL members they will be happy to contribute to this cause..

Injen - Intake only - $260

Apexi S-AFC - $360

Swift Racing Technologies: Intake w/ ECU - $550

Weapon-R: Intake w/ ECU: $1,000

A suggestion for donation:

After the dyno test, we raffle off the product to all those who donated. The more you donate, the chances of winning it is greater. Good idea?

Not that it really matters...but my car is a 2001

Weapon-R and SRT won't loan us an intake...what a bunch of cheap bastards...

Guess they're afraid of the outcome?

Default FINALLY!

FINALLY, it looks like two guys are stepping up – Manaray and gwu128. Very glad that someone is willing to loan an intake for the test, let alone both intakes – kudos to gwu. I’ve got doubts as to whether enough members would be willing to contribute $1,500 to buy both SRT and Weapon-R. Seems like it’s hard enough to get enough players to part with cash for a group buy – lots of “count me in’, etc. until it’s time to commit. I guess we’re like the rest of society today, too much talk, too little action. Count me in (really) to contribute towards dyno expenses, etc.

I said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m very disappointed (especially) in SRT – ‘cause I’ve got the SRT intake – but also in Weapon-R, apparently, they’re not confident that independent tests will support their claims. And, it’s hard to ignore that Injen is the only one with the ***** to compete.

Only concern is the wiring of the SRT ecu (don’t know about the WR) on Mannie’s car?

And finally, thanks to Ethan - you're off to a great start so far!

gwu128, I'll give you a call and Manaray, I'll give you a call too.

Ok dokey folks, the time has come!

Thanks for all the support ppl.

Also, for the record, I did ask the product be loaned. That means, they send me a product via mail, we test it, and then we return it back via mail. Unfortunately, some companies didn't feel it was their worthwhile to spend $50-$200 on it...so.....it has come down to this.

All I have to say is many thanks to all of those involved, I cannot wait to see the results posted. Especially the truth in WR vs SRT.

Thanks
