Considering purchasing a 2004 GS300
A friend of mine found a posting on his office bulletin board for a 04 GS300
here are the specs -
2004 GS 300
$14,900
-50k miles
-privacy tint
-moonroof
-heated seats
-everything else is standard
From carfax report no issues reported, also vehicle was serviced consistently at Lexus dealership every 6-8 months approx.
Just wanted to know a few things from the gurus here:
1>is this a fair/good deal, what is price that you would offer, as i would like to save some money for mods and future repairs
2> are there any common/known issues i need to look out for on this model year
3>Im not sure of the service intervals for Lexus, but are there any large upcoming services I will need to do, and what is a ball park cost for those.
4>Is there anything to watch out for in the test drive for a car of this age
Im a bit new to buying a car as I have been lucky enough to always get corporate leases from my dads work, so I never needed to buy a car ever till now since his company is discontinuing the benefit.
Any guidance is appreciated!
To admin, this is my first post, apologize if I incorrectly posted in wrong area.
Thanks!

I think the car is worth 13k if it's is in good condition
2> are there any common/known issues i need to look out for on this model year
This is a late model yr in a very reliable car. No yr-specific issues
3>Im not sure of the service intervals for Lexus, but are there any large upcoming services I will need to do, and what is a ball park cost for those.
30-60-90-120k mile services with oil changes in between. For a 60k budget 600-900 if you're using a dealer
4>Is there anything to watch out for in the test drive for a car of this age
Try not to hit little old ladies. People are mixed in whether the 300 has enough power for them. Drive it hard and see if the car is quick enough for you
Post pics if you buy!

Lead Lap
I guess that is average, the car does have low miles on it. i bought my 2004 gs300 2 years ago for 20000 out the door. i bought it at 56000 and do regular maintainence and nothing has went wrong on me yet.

well went to look at it - turns out to be a dealer selling the vehicle
car was in really bad shape - i don't know who could do this to a lexus, i couldnt sleep if my car was looking like this
1. front passenger fender
2. the roof where the XM transmitter was installed (very bad install)
3. driver door
i didn't take a pic of the cars rear bumper which
looked like it was scraped by something , scratch lines were deep enough that it was white in color.
not to mention scratches all over the hood and trunk, ive seen other GS's at 75-100k miles and none looked this dingy
since i was there - i took it for a test drive, all in all good car if you dont car what it looked like on the outside or dont mind doing a full repaint, i even negotiated down to 12,500 just to practice some haggling...lol
anyway looks like im on to the next one..
