Default Just bought my first gs! mignight blue what it do0

so i just picked up this midnight blue 2001 GS300 for 8,500. it had 100,000 miles all original parts no accidents first owner all that good stuff. I was looking to make a few modifications and was looking for some other owners input on my opinion.

things i wanted to do
-yellow fog lights. i was thinking of not just the bulbs, like the cover too?what do i look to buy?
-maybe a slight tint, but some people have been telling me it will look cleaner without.
-i was thinking of gunmetal emblems, but i think i would also have to do that chrome strip that goes around.
- i wanted to do an indash double din monitor. wasnt sure what kind to look for.
opinions?

My car is grey on black leather, other than that its identical to yours

Have you considered installing HIDs in your fog-lights. I have yellow fogs right now and kinda wishing I had HIDs in there.
If your car has tint-virginity I say leave it as it is, looks clean

One question though, you said that your car had no incidents, all parts are original, well it sounds just like my GS, but could you check out one thing for me please!
Does your steering wheel have this "free play" like quarter of an inch. I mean all the time, even if your engine is turned off, do you have that resistance free movement on the steering wheel? Thanks in advance and good luck with your midnight blue!

nice buy, if its all original parts i would get everything thoroughly inspected becuz original parts start to break after 100K miles.
-for the fogs jus get lyk 3000K HIDs and they will be very yellow. here's the site i get all my HIDs from. they got a sale going on now
http://www.ddmtuning.com/catalog/HID_Kits-85-1.html
-as for tints, fishbowl is cool but u could always tint em lyk 35% and it wuld giv u a nice clean look that u culd still see thru
-emblems...last time i went to the dealer they told me they dnt sell gunmetal emblems anymore, they only came stock on the sport design models. but u culd always heat gun and peel urs off, get sum model car spray paint n paint them joints yaself! DIY is the best way to save money
-i thnk its carson tuning that makes the double din mount for our cars but im not 100% on that. but kenwood and pioneer always r good names that stand out for the monitor/stereo system.
Good Luck and welcome to Club Lexus

-yellow fog lights. i was thinking of not just the bulbs, like the cover too?what do i look to buy? Definitely go with the 3000k HID kit. You will be much happier with that.

-maybe a slight tint, but some people have been telling me it will look cleaner without.
Tint is a matter of preference. I personally have 35% and think it's perfect.

-i was thinking of gunmetal emblems, but i think i would also have to do that chrome strip that goes around. Those emblems can be ordered from www.l-tunedparts.com. They are a Lexus dealer who carries many usdm and jdm parts, and a great group of guys to deal with.

- i wanted to do an indash double din monitor. wasnt sure what kind to look for.
opinions? For many people on here, Pioneer is the band of choice. L-tunedparts carries a dash kit that is color matched to out interior color and i believe it's a Lexus part. There is a DIY on the install. Requires some time and patience, but isn't hard to do.

Good luck and hope this helps.

^Me too! The color is awesome. I get a lot of compliments on it and I don't see if very often. I wanted black interior but ended up with tan.

Very clean and nice buy OP. I personally like the tint. The stock tint was too light. When they took it off, the car looked naked. Much better now that its 20% rear and 35% front. I have the Kenwood DNX8120, absolutely no complaints. Definitely think about doing your suspension and ball joints!

Thank you for all the support. I was thinking of keeping the stock rims becuase i like that i got the non chrome factory rims. think they look a lot cleaner. also am very happy i got the beige interior. boss status haha.
will doing my suspension give me any problems?
what is that back window visor called?
should i clear my reflectors, or black out?

pics of other blue onyx would be nice!

Blue onyx pearl rocks I agree with the tint. The car looked too stock w/o tint. Once I added 35% all around, the car's image totally changed. I wanted to put 20% on the rear, but the black interior would have made it look really dark inside (I live in Ohio).

OP you got a good deal on your car, congrats!
