Lowering my GS
I was talking to a car guy the other day and he brought up the fact that my car would look much better with a 2'' drop in the front and a 1.5'' in the back..not news to me, I've been wanting to since I got the car. He said there are things that pinch the springs together to lower the car and they're really cheap, I don't want to spend the money for new springs and shocks...anyone know what these things are called and how much they cost and how well they work?

Yea just save up and get a spring and strut combo! Dont cut corners you'll regret it!!
And as far as those spring clamps go you'll wind up destroying the ride, And you could wind up damaging something in the process. It wouldnt be good if one of those snapped off at highway speeds and sliced through a brake line......
Springs arent meant to be clamped together, Just think for a moment how much pressure is there and the weight it must hold up!

They are called Spring Clamps or Lowering Spring Clamps. You can find them at some auto part stores. Ebay probably has them for $5.00 plus shipping.
As far as how well they work...well....they do what they are supposed to. Most company's that sale them state up front that they are for show use only and not intended for street use. They might be illegal some places too.
Your ride will suffer too since you will be disabling a functioning part of the spring. Basically follow everyone's advice and skip it for now. A cheap drop can be had with used drop springs and struts.
