Digging this one up from the "Search"...
If you're still around...
How did you get the **** to sit so low on the chrome shifter? I've removed the old ****, and installed a **** very similar to this, but it rests too high. I've pressed it down pretty hard...
Did you cut the shift lever at all?
Thanks,
Tim

On my zebrano wood Momo shift **** I drilled out the inside more (checking the drill length so as not to drill a hole right through the top!) and drilled a hole through the rubber 'condom' that goes inside the shift ****. Mine sits nice and low now.

i have seen ash black replacement wood. replaces all the stock wood color areas. looks so good with grey leather. would look good with your set up too! anyone heard of it? where do you get it, i've been looking but no luck, so far...

Well, I used the drill press to push that rubber boot much further down into the shift **** which gave me a lower seat...I then drilled through the rubber thinking I could get into the wood some, but there is a screw right under the rubber boot...
Pushing the rubber further into the ****, and drilling out the top, now allows the **** to sit as far down as the original shift ****.
I don't want to drill through the screw...I'm contempating cutting the shift rod...

dash trim on the sides...really clashes IMO but then again, it's ur car so don't take it personally.
That's why I never bothered to do CF in my GS400 with that wood on the sides. Prefer billet....
**** looks good though,
rick

I guess you're not drillin' into wood because your **** isn't wood.

I'd be real careful about cutting the shift rod in case you mess up the thread, although I guess a Momo shifter doesn't use the thread anyway so what the hey...

Well dang, that's what I have! I actually own both the long and short zebrano ones - I have the short one on precisely because it can sit lower. I now see I could maybe have it sit a bit lower - maybe I'll try drilling it some more, but it's definitely lower than the stock one already.
