Does your car happen to be a 98-00 GS300?

Step 1) open hood
Step 2) locate transmission dipstick
Step 3) check fluid level and color on dipstick, the fluid should be red
Step 4) reinsert dipstick

Next:

Step 1) locate battery
Step 2) Take a wrench and loosen the bolt on the negative battery terminal
Step 3) disconnect the negative (-), its black, battery terminal
Step 4) count to 30
Step 5) reinstall the battery terminal and tighten the bolt with your wrench
Step 6) Make sure you didn't leave your wrench laying on top of your engine
Step 7) Close hood

Assuming the fluid was good, take the car for a test drive and see if you have problems.

If you still have problems, get a trans flush. (its going to cost around $200)

If you still have problems, take it to a shop that knows toyotas

If it happens occasionally, I believe that's normal.

Check the trans mount. It's relatively cheap replacement and is a common source for jerking when getting on and off the gas.

get that tranny checked out. There are some transmission shops that will do a free inspection. Go to a reliable shop. I had mine rebuilt to hold more power...I haven't had a chance to drive it yet so I can't tell you if my problem was fixed yet or not.

P.S. if you're checking your transmission fluid, make sure you do it with the car RUNNING
