WOW the prices on door actuators
#4
DIY, it's the cheapest way. I did it, took me like almost 2 hours, the first time, and i got my hand stuck, (the window went up by itself, and it got stuck) so if you plan to do it, take out your battery. =] But if it's easier if you buy the whole actuator. lol

My car is most of the time garage at work and at home. So I rarely use the locks and I ended up having one died which was on the left rear. Opened the door up at work and took the acuator out. Opened it up and found out the 2 metail contacts pos and neg broke. So I just soilder them up and that's it. No need a new motor. I was suprised how much grease they put inside there.

im using universal door actuators. they will last forever. only problem, that lil door switch doesnt work. so u will have to open the door by pressing on the unlock button.

If those are still available that's the way to go, I've still got 4 more motors waiting in case another actuator goes out, cost about $10 for 5 of them. I think people were having trouble finding them a while back but it was well worth the extra effort to switch the motor if you can find the right ones.
