Default navi screen and audio blipping out?

My wife was driving around today and the navi screen/audio blipped out. Navi screen went dark like it shut off, then came back on seconds later booting up with the Lexus logo....

I'm really hoping this isn't a major thing....Anyone else experience this? btw, 99 GS400 with Feb 99 HD update to navi...

TIA!!!

edit: I should mention that everything else in the car was working fine..ie no cel, gauges still on, car ran fine, no dip in power or surges...just audio going out, screen turning off, then coming back on and rebooting (3x).

could be the harddrive going bad, could be the amp, could be the screen alot of different possibilities here

is the hard drive linked to the audio? ie if the hd went dead, then we would lose audio? screen seems ok otherwise..just based on how it works now, it seems ok. Where would the amp be? And would that actually cause the screen to blip out too?

im thinking the screen blipping could be a problem with the screen....although i would think if it came back on and reloaded the lexus system it might be a nav ecu or harddrive in your particular car. although when i detached my nav screen and plugged it back in the system reloaded. u recently have any audio or any other kinda work that would be in that general area

nope no audio or navi nothing...it just happened one day when my wife dropped the kids off at school, she said it happened 3 times on a 10 minute trip, then twice again on the return trip, but hasn't done it since....where did you plug the screen back in? maybe it's just a loose connection that got dirty over time?

i dunno, my car doesnt use a HD my NAV ECU is in my trunk and no, u dont have to take the dash apart, just take the shifter console out, ashtray, and unscrew the nav unit

u can follow from post # 27 in this post to see how to remove it.
