windows Tint and NAV. System
I have a GS400 98, with NAV system, I wanted to get the windows tinted for summer but I was told that this my Nav. system will be effected by the windows tinting and that the metal in the tinning film will effect the collaboration of the system.
Can I get some advise from you guys on this issue?

I had my windows tinted, using a metalic tint (Madico "Cool Chrome"), about 6 months ago and I have not experienced any problems with my Nav system whatsoever. I was very concerned it effecting my Nav system...so much so that I had them put a clause in my contract stating that they would remove it at no cost or replace it with a non-metalic tint.

ok I have tints on my car, it didn't affect the navigation system because I didn't use the Metalic tints, if u do decide to use the metallic tint then they are gonna have to cut enough of the tint to expose the antenna that is embedded in the back glass , if they dont do that then it'll distort ur reception, that should pretty much cover ur question

Those of you who have had your windows tinted with no adverse affects on your nav.. what exact manuf., part, tint % are you using. I think one or two of you got specific but I'm getting ready to have mine tinted and I really don't wanna have problems with the nav in my car.

Definitely impacts cell antenna
My built in cell antenna didn't work anymore after my tint was installed...may be an issue if you plan on using the GS built in antenna. I would do a search though, I thought there were a bunch of guys that had the windw film cut differently near the NAVI antenna. Besides if it does get messed up you can always replace it with a glass mount from TERK that doesn't look too bad.
