Default Head Unit Removal

Hi All, I'm new to forum and I just purchased a GS430...so I have a lot to learn. I need help with removing the head unit to get access to the satellite radio controller bracket installed there. I want to move it form that location.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Well what you're going to do is use your bare hands to pull out the air vents. It may be a bit slippery with just your bare hands, but what you want to do is grab it firmly and pull straight out. Then you will disconnect the wires from the assembly. Using a non-powdered latex glove will help you grip it unless you are allergic to latex. Now for the ashtray. It is possible to remove it without having to move the shift **** down to a lower position, but it would easiest if you do and don't want to risk scratching any finishes. What you're going to do here is open the ashtray and once again, grab it firmly where you can (I will provide a picture of where I believe it is easiest to pull from) and just pull it straight out and once again disconnect the wires. Very simple. Now to remove the HU, I believe there are 4 10mm bolts on every corner.

In this photo, the blue arrows show you where to grab and pull from. The red dots represent the placement of the bolts after you have the air vents and ashtray removed.

Anyhow, take your time with it. I installed my Pioneer HU in a rush and accidentally scratched some of the surrounding leather.

Haha thanks. I help with what I can. Good luck to you. It's very simple. If there's anything I missed or misinformed everyone about and you spot it while you perform this, please update for other users.
