Default GS300 owners feel they should have gotten the V8 instead?

It seems to me Lexus sold more GS300 over 400/430 based on what I see on the road, review from this board.
Anyone know the sale % betwen the I6 and V8?

Also, wonder how many current GS300 owners thinking they should have gotten the V8 (and why?)

Glad I bought the GS400. Don't see them often.

GS300's are a dime a dozen here.

Yeah, you got two options: turbo the 300 or buy a 400, and there's not much in between. So whether you're a mechanically-inclined gearhead or not will determine which car you want.

Take it from a guy who had a 300...and now, well...

wish Id gotten the GS400, my 300 leaks oil like a siv (SP?) Im looking at getting the T belt, Water pump, cam seals, front crank seal, valve cover gaskets, plugs, wires changed. I hope it is leaking from there(cam seals or fr crank) and running down to the rear where the motor meets the tranny. Thats where it drips from, but I can look inside at the Tbelt and it is oily and my water pump has standing oil on it. WTH!! I hope I dont have to pump a bunch of money into this to find out its leaking from the rear seal, too! Ive called Toyota about the repairs, they hav\vent got back with me for a quote(its been a week, Ive called them 3 times?????). How much should these reapirs minus the rear seal cost? Kinda wonderin.

I live in NYC and I'm happy with my 300. Gas is good to me and I don't wanna speed up and down the road anyway. Turbo or GS400 would just be too tempting to speed.

i looked for 400's and 430's, but they were either over priced, or very beat up. so i found a nice 300.

i'm very satisfied with saddle!

I love my car I really do...
but bottom line is if you get the 300 go turbo or go home
unless u turbo it u will always think i coulda had more power, i coulda been faster
but its not like i had a choice in the matter

I didn't do much research before buying my car (only owned mustangs) and didn't even realize that there was a V8 option (gs400). If I could go back, I would look for a 400.

I researched a bit before i got my GS and i went with the 400, it is a good powerplant for the GS in my opinion. If i got the 300 i would of eventually tried to go turbo with it.

I was the same way, came from a 95 GT so i had to get the GS400 to keep the V8 power..
