Emission's and the Profiting of many states..
Okay in this constant search I am at the looking over the cliff part of this hole thing and once you jump I think you know where that is going. For the Gs 300, If/ when you upgrade your engine and add a turbo kit to it can you pass an emission test?

in CT you should be ok as long as its tuned right. In states like california that are much more strict, it's tougher to get around.

Actually the kit that I was looking at the SRT racing guys told me straight up, your not going to be able to pass emissions with it, so it's kinda like hmm okay and all the states up here have emission's standards so then what you can't always find that guy to bribe I think I might have to move to Idaho/ FL they don't have any

I understand that however it is still reading the same info just from a more reliable source the CPU of the car and none of it has the ability to escape into the atmophere so it is more precise so to speak...So is registration "trickery" the only solution?

Hi i am a noobie here but jus to see if i can help on this topic. I am a Smog technician in California and it is very strict here. Mostly all turbos and S/C are illegal but very few like Greddy i believe has the CARB# on there that makes the turbo legal but that only passes visual inspection. Once it runs the tail pipe test and your motor is heavily modded, you will fail..

I guarantee, that with this setup, your ECU will not throw a light or code, and when tuned properly you WILL pass a sniffer.

with an NA-T setup you do not HAVE to bypass the cat. If you do, you should use 2, dual channel o2 simulators for the downstream o2's, leaving your upstreams in place.

pretty much the bottom line is you are NOT going to pass smog with Turbo.. no matter if its tune right or what not. the only way is to get it smogged before adding turbo, take out the turbo and get it smogged them put it back on, or do it "under the table"

^^^^Best answer regarding this issue.^^^^ And if you install at the ecu, you can install inside the plastic ecu case and you will pass visual.
