Hi all,
My 02 GS430 has 92,000 miles on it and i think it's about time to get it serviced at my independent mechanic. I would like to change the timing belt, spark plugs and air filter. Can you provide me links to the best parts to buy?
Also, is there anything else i should be concerned with the 90,000 miles?
Thanks

Make sure to be on top of your suspension. It's highly recommended that the tie rods and ball joints be replaced around this time as well. Replace any other suspension parts as needed, but worry about the lower balljoints and tie rod ends first.

Are OEM parts the only good way to go when replacing lower ball joints and tie rod ends? Or are comparable brands like Aisin OK?
I'm getting ready to replace coils and shocks at 107K.

Balljoints and tie rods? Go with OEM balljoints for sure. As for tie rods, I'm using moog and they're fine so far. They seem beefier than the OEM unit too. Plus at half the cost, they're a no brainer for me. Only time will tell how they hold up. I'm using OEM balljoints.
You can replace engine parts with Aisin rather than buying things from the dealer. You'll have a lot more money that way.
