Cams/valve spring swap?

It's not simple. The GS3 is a bit easier, but that's just speaking relatively...cams and valve spring swap is not for the casual DIY'er. For the V8, you will have to remove the timing belt, intake manifold, valve covers, and whatever is in the way of getting to those components. Then you need a tool that can allow you to swap the valve springs in the car. If you drop a valve, you will have extra fun because you will most likely have to pull the heads off lol. My tip is to shove a bunch of rope on the cylinder from the spark plug hole and then rotate the crank until the rope creates a seal against the valves so they don't drop when you're swapping springs.
Also you have to adjust the valve/cam clearances. This is a very time consuming task but it must be done properly or else you will have a very noisy valvetrain. Many things involved in this job. Expect to pay at least a MINIMUM of $1k at a private mechanic shop to do this job and possibly $1500-2k at a more expensive shop. Make sure they have experience working on a Toyota V8 with VVTi or else they WILL screw up your engine! Just make sure you take it to a reputable shop and you should be good to go

Dont pull the heads unless you have to. There are easier ways like pressurizing the cylinder with compressed air to facilitate the job. Pulling off the cylinder heads is only necessary if you are changing the valves.
I would not do this unless you are making major changes to the vehicle. If you are changing the cams for increased lift or duration or both, you should already have alot of serious engine mods. Including a stand alone engine management system or a method to tune timing, or you are wasting your time and money.
Good luck.
