GS430 w/ Mark Levinson, bypassing for audio upgrade?
Recently, my ML amp went out on me, so instead of purchasing a new one from the dealership, I want to just go out and upgrade the whole audio system.
I will have a car audio shop doing the work, but the tech is very receptive to other people's experiences and wants to make sure his work is top notch as well. I like to be able to help him wherever possible.
My question: What will I lose if I bypass the ML amp? Are there any secrets to keep everything working? Any wiring diagrams available?
Thanks,
Chris

Extremely intensive bypass, you need to keep all of the factory stuff. My friend Alex had this done but I honestly never looked at it in depth just helped him upgrade the amps. Why do u want to keep the ML Chris? Is urs navi?

Vlad, yes - I have Navi. I am trying to keep the Navi, HU, and CD changer. I don't care about the Navigation voice as long as the navi works.
All I know is that I am very lucky that I don't have to drive the car often or I would have gone crazy already with no music.

i have a thread going in the tech audio section, but nothing is looking good as far as bypassing. You are basically stuck with using the hi level outputs (aka speaker outputs) coming from the ML amp.
