I should have mentioned....it was a Type S. They are 270 HP and weigh 3400.

My GS400 is 300hp and weighs....I think 4600.

So for me to barely edge out a TL Type S from a dig makes sense according to those figures. That's almost 800 pounds and that does make a huge difference when it comes to racing.

The Mustang is a tad bit faster than my car. Not from a dig as with a 5 speed Mustang there is a decent amount of wheel spin compared to zero wheel spin in my GS. But for top end, my GS puts the beat down on any stock Mustang that does not have a power adder.

The G37 I drove was the 300hp version. I am pretty sure they are around 3500. 300 hp 4600 lb Lexus compared to a 300 hp 3500 lb Infiniti = Infiniti win every time from a dig unless the driver sucks.

The RT was an SRT8. And forgive me, I see the OP put charger, I was thinking of the Challenger.

This is true about the infinity weighing less and having the same horsepower. But the GS has 40 ft-lb of torque more than a g37. 315 compared to only 270.Its up for a draw since the g37 has gained 300lbs since 2003 and now ways almost 4000lb.

Hey Rock. Your exhaust is just a borla axle back right?? Everything else is on the exhaust is stock?

True, I completely forgot about torque. I am wondering if that amount of torque, 30 lbs or so is enough to overcome the weight difference?

Either way, you beat them? Good for you. Better than my weak sauce attempt at racing a TL.

Finding this hard to believe as well...

I raced my buddy in his 01 Mustang with a couple bolt-ons (CAI, Exhaust, Shifter, just like every other mustang ), and he got like 1 length on me from a dig up to 50. His car weighs about 1200 lbs. less, with probably 20 less horsepower.

So your saying an 01 mustang weighs less than 3000lbs? Its a ford, its heavy. I am not stock btw, i have a K&N intake when i raced him and i barely pulled on him. Those bolt ons probably helped him out alot and since hes manual he has the advantage of launching. Either way my GS beat my buddys mustang everytime we raced.

OK...FIRST the stock GS4XX only weight 3860lbs...FACT; look it up.

Next, even my friend has an '04 TL type S and it just doesn't have the ba lls that the GS4 does...it has nothing on the GS4 performance wise.

Lastly, it is VERY DIFFICULT to confuse an R/T (360hp?) with an SRT (425hp). lol. There are so many differences. Be advised that the R/T still has a big hemi with to big dual exhaust and has a mean growl. I doubt you went up against an SRT8. If you car is stock (or just barely) he would have probably had 4+ cars on you by 70mph.

...and for the record the Charger SRT8 is slightly the fastest out of the 3 domestics: From fastest to slowest: Charger SRT8, Challenger SRT8 and Chrysler 300 SRT8. But they are all very close where it would come down to driver error.

Yes, just a Borla rear section. That is the extent of my exhaust work...well, headers too if you count that. With my current mods I am sure I could benefit from a larger more aggressive exhaust system. The Borla rear section exhaust was my very first mod I did to the car 4 years ago...never thought I'd go to this extent with modding. lol

You could just be a better driver than the people that you are racing or just willing to go that much farther with it while other are not because I don't think you should be winner some of those races stock but hey enjoy the ride I'm sure that is why you got it.

The GS400 is faster.

I think you've had your car for less than 3 weeks.
