i cut off my mufflers and, I LOVE IT!
did some searching on here and that guy jbrady or whatever sounded like he had his info right about velocity and "back pressure". so i unbolted it. and wow it sounded amazing and soo frkin CLEAAANNN. only down side was the pipes shot right up to the cabin. so i just had em cut. now im planning on just having custom pipes put in to run to the back. i want louder so im prolly gunna remove resonators. i will definatly get a video up soon for you guys. i just wanted to share that i love the sound of my gs. the guy at the shop said it was going to sound like azz and when they started it up, he said "woah sounds better then my gt with flowmasters". i litterely havent turned my stereo on in 4 days lol. any suggestions to make the car louder?

I remember taking off the dual mufflers on my 6 and that sounded sweet, but I had to put them back on.

The v8 must sound nice! You should have got some custom straight pipe axle backs done that would bolt on in place of the mufflers, but same difference if you're gonna weld on some custom piping to the part you cut off

ohh yeah the v8 just roars with no muffs. especially in neighboorhoods it just echo's offff everythinggg. and it really adds to the feel now whenever i step on the gas, i feel like im driving a viper lol, around my area theres not alotta vettes, M///'s, poches's, exotic cars or just sports cars in general. so im just one of those guys with a fast car who DD's his car around the area. and yeah i turn ALootta heads. its so great. the loudness and cleaness just makes me want it louder. no pops just a beautifull song

 

i did it to when i had my gs400 if you youtube gs400 exhaust delete you will find it... What i had done was i had them take the stock mufflers off and fab up some straight pipe to the factory flange,(just incase i wanted to bolt up a aftermarket/stock muffler again) then i had them weld back on the stock tips.. sounded amazing. Like you said the people at the shop kept on telling me its not going to sound nice and that i should just leave it.. i was like no do it or ill take it somewhere else... then when they finished and i turned it on he was like i cant believe it.. it sounds nice lol...

I run dumps on my mustang since my stock tailpipes will not clear my panhard bar. Check out MAC dumps. Running these may sound better than nothing at all. I run long tubes, no cats, and mac dumps and it sounds great.

I know that the GS400 sounds like a Mustang...at least with a Borla exhaust on it...from what I have seen on youtube. The Macs dumps the exhaust down and the sound obv goes down as well.

I remember going up a driveway into Logan's here in Michigan, and my back end went into a dip and it ripped my passenger side axle-back off. I had to work on dropping the axle-back down by cutting the rubber hangers off. My wife was too embarrased lol to stand outside and watch me, blaming me for riding too low. After I was done I put the axle-back in my trunk and just decided to head back to the crib, when I turned the corner I hit the gas, Oh man the heads that turned, they thought it was a muscle car lol.

 

It's this thing loud as hell, I'm going to wait and see what the finished product looks like before I past judgment on this.
