Empty Gas Tank at 1/4 Marking??
This just happened to me last month, after running out of gas driving 150 miles North....Thank goodness for AAA Gold, they came out and gave me 3 gallons of gas. Car started right up...What gives?
So I bought a one gallon red gas container so that I could test this out again without getting stuck... Ran out of gas again, and yep there it is again 1/4 marking, letting me know that I should have 1/4 tank of gas left, NOT. Looks like my 1/4 marking has transformed itself into EMPTY MARKING. Has anyone had this happened to them, what was the issue, what part is failing, could it by a bad float in the gas tank?
Thanks ahead of time...

The assumption would be that I would need to drop my tank in order to check the floater, right? Can the floater itself be replaced if it is not working correctly or is it a part of fuel pump. I ask since I have never seen the inside of a GS300 gas tank. Back in the old days, I fixed my old 300ZX when it suffered the same issue.
Thank you for the quick reply

floater is attached to the fuel pump assembly.
to access the fuel pump assembly, u remove the rear seat bench, and its located under the rear driver side seat
