Default tint

ahh.. i finnaly deside to replace my tint, schedules on jun 1st

i currently have quantum (stock) somethin weird is about that tint.. i see it on many other lexus .. but i know dealership doesn't put 'em on.. i guess some dealership does..

anyway it's quantum i'd say more then 35% a lot more.. i dont know which one goes after that..

but i'm replacing it to another quantum.. i though to go with black since my car has black exterior and interior but i like quntum so badly so i'm goin with quantum

i'm going with 7% qunatum... gosh its goin look like movin mirror

and i can only imagine what my dad going say about that when he sees me on my car

I have 5% black on my BMW.....you can't see out at night....

I will be doing 20% black on my Lex here pretty soon....

But 7% is going to be a pain in the *** trust me...it's like when your driving at night on the unlighted freeway and some one is behind you in the distance and you turn your mirror to the dark setting (in cars other then the lex)....it's like that ALL the time at night, even like down town or where ever....but it is Hella cool, no one can see you.....

Default Don't do it

a1exus,

being from NY also, I'd advise against it. The NY Tint law on Driver/Pass windows is 30% Tint (not 30% Light transmission)..what you are describing is like limo tint 93% tint. You will get busted for it constantly...just ask dieselman63 he's from brooklyn and constantly getting pulled over for his tint. I have 35% (tint) on the front windows and 20% everywhere else and the others make a good point about not being able to see at night with it.

when you replace tints and have to peel it off the back window, does it damage the rear defrosters at all?? the guy that tinted my windows said that you can pretty much expect the lines to come off with your tint and therefore say goodbye to the rear defrosters.

heh

well i finnaly did my tint today

even though that you guys were so against it.. i dont know .. i'm kind of used for dark tint although i got to admit that it is dark, my other lexus had lighter front windows then back windows so it was okay back then..

now i have 6% all around.. i just drove to work .. it's 12am here.. it wasn't that bad, but those streets that not light up nicely it's real dark to see outside too but other then that it looks fine, fine and one more time ... fine ..

i'm going post some of the pictures later on

i would not recommend do it by yourself.. but if you know what you doing you can make it so it would not damage anything and put new tint later on..

Can't wait to see the pictures. I myself like the 15% metalic titanium semi-reflective.
