Paint question
Ok so i have a first generation GS that i bought about 6 months ago. i bought it from a guy that was the 2nd owner. well he lived out in woodland hills and it gets very hot out there. so he had to repaint the car before selling it because if someoen were to buy it they would have to repaint it anyways. well when i bought the car i was soo excited i did not look closely at the paint. if you stand far away the reflection looks very blurry. this is the ONE thing i don't like about my car. i wish my car had a sharper reflections it also doesn't help that my car is black.
ok so how do i get my paint and reflections to look sharper. I called him and ask him for some information on the paint and he said he had forgot. and i asked him around how much did he spend he also said he forgot. SOMEONE helpme

If he forgets... he may have never had it repainted, and just said that to get a buyer. But if you want to make it look sharp, try some Zaino Brothers. Make sure you know weather you have a clear coat or not though... that's important 'cause zaino has 2 different formulas... one for CC one for non...

i'm pretty sure its repainted. you could tell easily.
how can i tell if my car has a clear coat on it or not. i'm guessing not cuz most black cars don't have clear coat right?? will this be permenant.?? i want to do something to my car permanantly to make it lookign sharp. anything besides repaint the whole car

Seriously, check out Zaino... They make a non-clear coat application version so buy it, and try it. It's cheaper than getting a clear coat put on the car. Unless you own an updraft paint booth...
Will that give you a decent reflection? I hope so...

That's one great looking WS6. Is that your toy? I hope to see it on 6/29.

I wish it was... I'd trade it in for an SC300, make it a 6sp 2JZ-GTE beast.
Nope, that's a car off of Zaino's web site.

Black Clear or Not
Clear coat is a way of manufacturer's using less paint than they need to and giving you the impression that you have more protection to the paint. To a certain extent this is true as surface scratches will only hurt the clear finish and not the actual pigmented paint (which will be more difficult to "touch up"). Over time many manufacturers have taken different approaches to black (the thinest of all paint colors when applied..due to its quickest coverage/dark color) By applying clear you can offer more protection to the paint TRUE, but you also have added a layer to the paint that in most cases will AMPLIFY the effect of surface scratches causing black paint to SHOW scratches more readily than other colors. WHy BMW and Lexus differ on it is beyond me, but I would rather have a non-clear black over a clear. Jmai22, I don't know if you can find out what you have, but I know most places around here will automatically clear all paints, if you can check it'll be best, but otheerwise ask the Zaino guys...I don't htink one polish will hurt if it is incorrect, but confirm with them.
