Default Trunk won't stay open

Trunk won't stay open on my 2003 gs 300. When I open the trunk on a flat surface there seems to be no problem yet there is nothing holding it from closing. If I am in a slight hill the trunk will simply close on my face. A little worried about the wifey getting hurt while getting the grocieries out. Any help will be appreciated. Will

Yes, has to do with repositioning rods in trunk.

Open your trunk...peel back the wall carpeting in your trunk (behind the rear seating area)...you will see 2 horizontal rods....at the end of both rods...you will them positioned in 1 of 3 holes. Move the rods to the other holes...it should help provide more tension to keep your trunk up.

If you have a large wing or add weight...you may need to customize and drill extra holes for even more tension.

good luck.
