Where to buy used 2nd Gen. GS300?
Guys,
I'm looking for an used 2nd generation GS300 with NAV (so I can hack it to play DVD), black interior/silver, black or white extorior in So Cal area. Mileage doesn't really matter as I will swap the engine and transsmision anyway. Please give me some pointers as where I could find a car like that for a decent price? Thank you very much.

Dealer Auctions
Are you keeping your GS430 or are you going to sell it? I am pondering doing the same thing(engine swap or turboing the 98+ GS300). If you lived locally I would be able to help you out but why don't you try contacting a LA auction brokerage firm. I have heard about a service in California where for about a grand they locate a car for you at the Dealer Auctions way below retail(sometimes wholesale or even less). I also hear that these firms have recently worked out a way to legally bring you into the auctions with them to look for your car(it used to be that they would have to bring you in as an employee ). If you choose this route you will pay much less than at the Dealerships and you will have a great time at the Dealer Auctions(if they let you go), they are really fun.

Do not trade your car in!!! The dealers will offer you much less than the car is worth! At least take out an ad in Autotrader online which will give you National Exposure & a chance to get much closer to retail value(or retail) for your car. Remeber the dealer needs to resell the car you trade in to them, so they need to offer you an amount for your car that will enable them to make a profit off of it. If you can, throw it on Ebay. I definitely recommend you sell it yourself or hire someone to sell it for you on consignment(they take a fee on the front end or a % off the back end, etc...)
