Also bear in mind that all of these pics were taken with only one fog light projector, not 2 and that it was not installed on the car but sat on my tool case for ease of testing, that is why the cutoff is high. These pictures were taken to definitively determine the effect of the stock lense on output.

Haha. You must have gotten some weird looks/questions from people walking or driving by.

Thanks for the pic. I just wanted to see whether it would look like a big circle of light or if the output would fill up the housing.

With or without the lense it definitely fills up the housing. No weird looks but I did get some guys driving around in a Bimmer asking me questions about the air suspension and if they could get it done on the Bimmer LOL.

What kind of Bimmer? An old beat up one?

and thanks for the info. I may look into this.

Are you working on a DIY post?

Also looks like you need to restore your head lights.

Actually the bimmer was like a 2003 5 series LOL.

Yea hopefully should have one up within a week or two.

Doing a retrofit right now, with quad projectors for the headlights should hopefully be done soon and then its on lol.

If you can design it, they can mold it. They have a molding machine.
http://www.emachineshop.com/machine-...te/page59.html

they also have clear/transparent materials...all kinds of material to use.
example:

Interesting, Thanks Sam, I'll have to look into it. Unfortunately I have no experience in cad so this solution would be a slow process, gonna speak to a friend of mine who is familiar with cad though.

I would suggest staying away from polycarbonate as the material is prone to aging (yellowing and fogging up over time).

I'm looking forward to the DIY and I also would like to do quad projectors in my headlights.

If the CAD is ever to happen, making it a little further out may enhance the visual of the fog... kinda flush it to the bumper. It would also allow longer and larger projectors in there.

Default Projector foglights

Hi Peeps,

I was on the verge of doing the same modification on my gs430 2001.

i installed 35w hid kit 8000k and noticed that due to the size of the original foglight the light just looked out of proportion and does not look good especially when you have a projector conversion on the headlights.

So i purchased some universal projector foglights and installed them on my car with a 8000k h3 hid kit

Pics attached

good idea, nice pics but they need to be flushed in as they look bad sticking out. what are you gonna use to make a new lens....or are you just gonna leave them hollowed out?

It looks nice but I dont like all of the empty space around the fog light hole. My goal with this mod is to make it like a factory piece, like lexus made it so. That is why I'm going through the trouble doing this. I could've gone your route and would've run me about $30 for the fog lights but IMHO it doesnt look right. Props to you for doing something different though

I can model them in Pro-E (CAD program) if you give me the dimensions. Not sure if they have a specific program they want to use for the molding but if Pro-E works for them I can do it.

I wish I can measure it for you but I'll be off by a foot.
