Default Software/Electrical Engineer? Want to take on a project?

I have an idea but it would require putting together a team of us.

So since flyaudio isn't making the factory nav alternative thing I'm thinking it wouldn't be impossible to try to either:

A: modify the IS version to work in the 2GS (new faceplate)

or

B: Just redesign a faceplate for accomodating the AC controls and a regular NAV unit to have a more OEM look.

I'm a Design Engineer so I could CAD up something without too much trouble and then have a face plate injection molded at TAP or something.

I need some help with the wiring diagrams though, so thats why I'm looking for an EE.

We could get CRAZY if you guys want to do our own coding and stuff. Maybe get some DSPs?

Any takers?

I've been looking into doing a 10" touch screen to replace the whole setup. I'm a little stuck with the climate control. I may leave it, or program it into the touch screen, not sure yet. I would love if someone could make a trim piece for the screen, although I was hoping to get it to look like wood. It's just starting to warm up here (Canada) so, I'm getting more serious about this project. It would run a full car-computer, probably a laptop in the glove box where the CD player is. Should cost about $1000.

If we went with an 8" there is still room for the climate control. (Only if we can't figure out how to program a new one)

PM me your e-mail/MSN info and we can get started.
I had started a cad drawing, but I have to retake the measurement with a digital caliper cause they are not accurate enough.

Ps, I'm not an electronics engineer, but I'm an electronics technologist, hope that's ok. I also know two great programmers.

Don't leave it, definitely incorporate it into the screen. Thats the whole reason I want to do this instead of just a fancy double din.

I'm sending you my email address now.
