Wheel gurus need your opinions!
So here is the deal. I want to get the G-Spyder wheels in 18 inch. Should I get the 18x8 or 18x8.5? I don't want to get staggered wheels. I want to get either of those sizes so I can do tire rotation so I could get even wear. Also which tire size should I get with the tire sizes I listed.
My current setup is Tanabe NFs with KYBs. So Im not that low. Please help me choose a size that would make the car look better. I hope the 18's won't make my 3" wheel gap look more noticeable. :/
I really appreciate your help. Thank you.

You can pick either one they will both fit. As for tire size you should run 235/40R18 regardless of which size rim you decide to go with. Some people would go with 8.5" because its wider and some people would go 8" because its lighter. But whichever wheel you choose you will go with the same size tire and you will have the same contact patch. I would pick the 8" over the 8.5" because the offset would cater better to the 2GS

OEM 215/60R16 = 26.15
OEM 235/45R17 = 25.32
These 4 sizes stay within OEM specs. Now all these tires will fit an 8" wide wheel without any issues however the 235 will fit best.
225/45R18 = 25.9
235/40R18 = 25.4
245/40R18 = 25.7
255/40R18 = 26.0
The size you asked about is slightly larger and may rub when turning especially if lowered.
235/45R18 = 26.3
