bulb types and hid conversion
so i did some search on the forums and found these information.
the gs4 i am looking at now doesn't have hids, and ever since i got my current car with hids i know it's a must. from what i read, for gs without hids, the low beam would be 9006 type, am i right? the high beam would be 9005 and the fogs would be 9006? can someone confirm that with me?
and if that's the case, i can just get the hid conversion kits (9006) for the low beam and the fogs (as long as i break the yellow reflector on the fogs) right? and i guess it's easy to find superwhite bulbs for the highbeam.
thanks!

oh! hey that's good to hear, i never like the yellow fogs. since the gs4 i am looking at now doesn't come with hid, that means it has clear fogs already. then all i need is two sets of 9006 hid kits

You can always swap out yellow for clear or vice versa...
Also, if you have clear and you want yellow, just get some PIAA Yellow Fogs...that's the look I like personally...I don't like white fogs because yellow is a better light for fog and I actually only use my fogs when it's foggy (when that eerie fog rolls into Santa Monica...)

well, philips is pretty much the most common and the most reputable out there. i don't know about lexus but acura uses osram in their cars. both philips and osram are made in germany. i don't know much about K2 though

Bellof in Japan makes a nice quality HID kit...
Basically, you have to look at where they get their bulbs and ballast from. Philips is pretty much the best (of course Koito and Osram/Sylvania are equally good)...most of these "cheap" kits you see out there come with some really LOW QUALITY Tawianese or Korean bulbs that don't last long...
Also, some some with some REALLY crappy wiring (I've seen 'em)...
The AutoLamps kit is a Philips kit and it's $450 for the 4100K kit and $550 for the 6000K kit through the ClubLexus special (for ClubLexus PAID members only)...that price includes shipping to your door. Definitely the best aftermarket kits I've seen.
Check out the Sticky in the LOBBY if you're not familiar with the deal...
