Default Is this common???

About two weeks ago my check engine light came on in my gs300 so i went to autozone, and it said i had a bad o2 sensor (bank1-sensor2). So i order one off of oxygensensors.com part number (234-4626) so when it came in i replaced it and unplugged my battery etc. I drive to work that night no check engine light on so i thought cool everthing is good. When i leave work and start driving check engine light comes back on, so im thinking WTF. Go to autozone and it says i have a bad o2 sensor again except bank2- sensor2.

My question is, is this common for a gs to have them go bad one after another? Because these lil *****es aint cheap lol

Be easy im a NEWB!!!

Did you get the actual code thrown by the car? Autozone and other shops tend to point to the 02 sensor when the code may mean something else. Check out the link below to see what your code actually says and what it could be

http://www.obd-codes.com/

If it is your 02 sensor, they do tend to fail at same times but not this close together. My guess is that the autozone steered you wrong

You be easy..lol

Ok i will go somewhere to see what codes are being thrown, and then i will go to this site and see.

If they do normally fail at the sametime what is the normal time span between them or do you have to consider the mileage also???

My experience is they fail within 10k miles of each other but not days/ a week apart

If you have a stock setup (no fancy air intakes, etc) I would expect a 80-130k miles from a set of sensors

ok the code is a 161

TD- Oxygen O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 2, Sensor 2)

What it means-
It basically means the PCM detected either an excessive current draw, or an open or short in the circuit powering the oxygen sensor's heater circuit. This is in reference to the Heated Oxygen Sensor (2) located rear of catalytic converter (Bank 2).

lol but im still a lil confused
