Rims ?
i stumbled upon some rims in my uncles basement earlier today, and was wondering if they fit on my 99gs3. the front are 245/40 R18 93W and the rear are 245/45 R18 100W...i was on another thread but it seemed soo confusing, plus the sizes were different i think. I'll the illest Noob, so i have no clue as to if it would fit. If someone could help me it would help out a lot. i still have the stock rims on my GS3, and if someone could explain what "245/40 R18 100W" means. thanks!

The most important piece of info is going to be the offset of the rims.
Is there anyother way to find out if they fit..like taking it a tire shop ?

I guess you can always take your car to a wheel shop, they show you a nice book full of wheels, choose the one you want, let them handle it and call it a day.
other than that u need to know your basics.

5x114.3 isnt thread pattern, its PCD or Pitch Circle Diameter (think thats what it stands for! haha) But it is basically the distance between the studs. so you can have 5 stud wheels but the studs are spaced out differently (120mm spacing vs 114.3mm spacing). As said, you need 114.3mm spacing.
245/40 are pretty square tyres so i reckon the offsets wont be too crazy. Just jack you car up and try one on. Remember to lower the car to see how it is goign to look cause it will tuck in further with the suspension down on the ground.
as a side note, i am not sure 93 is high enough load rated for our cars. Those last numbers & letters are the load rating and the speed rating. The load rating number corresponds to the amount of kilograms/pounds the tyre can hold and then letter corresponds on a table to a maximum speed rating. On my Australian delivered model, the load rating for the tyres is minimum of 94...
