I would have to disagree. 35watt vs. 55 watt only produces about 1.5 amps of current draw more. At idle thats about 4-4.5 amps, still way less than a 55 watt halohen which at 12 VDC is about 6 amps of current. I own a compnay called HID Mobile here in Houston, we do 55 watt kits in all kinds of stuff, no problems.....

^ It's just a plastic capsule that the bulb sits in. It won't affect how the bulb sits in the socket. Just take the fog light housing out and crack the capsule into small pieces and shake/pull them out with needle nose pliers or something.

It's just the yellow plastic piece that surrounds the bulb. Don't worry so much. Haha.
It's the same deal to clear out the amber in the turn signals inside the headlights, unless you want to take the entire headlight apart.
A lot of people have done it. Nothing to be afraid of.

Your other option would be to buy a pair of clear fogs (the GS's with factory halogens have fogs without the yellow sleeve) and sell your yellow fogs.
Breaking that sleeve isn't as bad as it sounds, pop your foglight out and remove the bulb then take a look at it. You can see the yellow sleeve clearly then. You can take a screwdriver and break it through the bulb hole, not hard but I can understand why you'd be hesitant.

yea, get some hid's in your fogs and heads. makes a huge difference. i don't know about all those expensive kits though... i run a japanese in the heads and a china in the fogs and they both work fine and are pretty darn similar.

Please don't break the yellow capsule inside of your foglights of you have them, its such a waste; plus MANY people would trade/pay for them. the yellow capsule makes a huge difference when you want the "pissed yellow" brightness. But i honestly think the clear foglights with 6k HIDs look more classy, more luxurious than yellow. imho.
