Default emblems

Hey everyone, you know how Lexus puts on the little L emblems on the center cap on their rims? Well I was wondering if they go on just like the ones on the back or front of the body? Also, where can one get these, preferably without paying an arm and a leg at the dealership. The reason really why I'm doing this is b/c I just purchased a set of Mille Migla(F18x8.5, R18x9) and wanted to put on the Lexus logo just to give it that finished look. If anyone else has any other suggestions, please lemme know. Thanks.

Wink Try your wheel shop!

Try your wheel shop that you order your wheels from. Most aftermarket wheel shops have that readily available to them. That way you don't have to pay an arm and a leg for them. et me know how it turns out.

Default I made my own for my Enkei Caps

The L emblems have about 4 pins on the back that insert through 4 matching holes in the cap. Then at the factory those pins are melted down from the back side to hold in place. The only way to take the "L" off of the factory cap is to grind the melted area on the backside of each pin then push out the remaining pin from the back side.

There is a second issue, behind the circular part of the L logo is a ridge that fits into a slot on the cap. This ridge would have to be grinded down in order for the L to fit flat on any other center cap or there will be a gap.

You can use a Dremel to grind the ridge and the back of the pins.

I checked around and wasted a lot of time calling wheel outlets to find Lexus caps for aftermarket wheels. So I finally broke down and made my own. I just bought a digital camera. If I have a chance to read the instructions on how to use it , I'll download some photos.

Kinda busy this weekend though.

I found 4 brand new center caps for the factory 16" rims on E-bay for $50. I haven't seen anything offered since I bought those.

Good luck finding caps. The dealer wants bucks.
