Default Servos - do I need to repair them

Ok, I've searched but i can't find the answer to this question

My servo(s) are going bad. I can hear the clicking behind the dash. I don't use the HVAC much at all. I probably won't do the teardown to get to the servos unless I have to.

My question is if I don't repair the servos and they completely fail, will they do any more damage to the HVAC system?

Thanks in advance

I have found out that a low freon charge will also create problems with the servos.

How do you check that?

one of your climate control servos is failing. do a search on the diy for this...it will eventually get stuck, so either the temperature or where the air blows out of won't change any more. Letting it go won't hurt anything though.

You need to check your freon charge.

I have had em apart before while charging the system and what i noticed if there is not enough freon or to much they work deferment.

I have seen one side blow heat and on side blow cold.

Was able to test each servo and the work properly, and give it a proper charge and the work fine.

The servos will brake the bank if you were to buy one. They are a nice unit and dont fail. The multiplex system in our cars are complex and have sensors when a sensor gives improper readings it does strange stuff. Dont ask me why and how i know im just sayin. lol

um since im a manager at a HVAC-R supply house i will DEF tell you that a low freon charge WILL NOT affect the servos, they wouldn't know if you have NO freon or to much in there. they have no sensors to detect a low charge so as i said its NOT possible

well, u can be just saying but on this one your wrong. mine were acting up from day one when i bought the car. sometimes they worked fine, sometimes they didnt but they temperamental. yours may have worked fine after your charge but like mine did sometimes....it was just coincidental

oh and btw they wont break the bank....

prices are in that link i gave up top. u can spend 300 or so on them and do them yourself....
