Stock GS400 17" tires are 235/45-17... stock G35 18" tires are 225/50-18 front and 245/45-18 rear... Has anyone just straight swapped on Infiniti wheels with this tire size?

It would be a ~26.75" diameter vs. the lexus 25.32" diameter, which throws a warning on the tire calcuation site, but just was curious how it worked or if anyone had tried it.

sometimes traction/stability controls can be messed up with incorrect diameters, didn't know if this was the case or not.

I'm not sure but i wouldn't go any larger than a 40 series tire.. I have 245 40 19 up front and i think thats to big.

Maybe I can help shed some light on the subject, I actually work at 1010tires. It is true you should stay within 3% on factory spec when it comes to tire up/down sizing. However, the factory 16" is 26.16 in diameter where as the OEM 17's are 25.32, that's already over 3% difference in height which not very common. Your overall height on the new tires are only 2% more than the OEM 16's, but on the other hand you are almost 6% more than the OEM 17's. With that being said, I would definitely downsize to a 225/45R18 in the front and 245/40R18 or 255/40R18 in the rear. GL

Awesome, thanks I was actually using that calculator . I've got some 18" tires from an '08 G35 laying around that I would have liked to use on some GS350 18's to save some cash and get them out of my basement, but it looks like that won't work.
